Garuda Wisnu Kencana (GWK), Culture Park of the Stone Age

Garuda Wisnu Kencana Cultural Park shortened its pedestal, is a recreation park in the southern island of Bali. This tourist park is located ditanjung Nusa Dua, Badung district approximately 40 kilometers south of Denpasar, capital city of Bali province. This cultural park in the area, planned to be established a landmark or mascot of Bali, which is a huge statue of Lord Vishnu who was riding his mount, Garuda, as tall as 12 meters.












Designed and built by Nyoman Nuarta, one of Indonesia's leading sculptor, the statue of Garuda Wisnu Kencana (GWK) and its supporting structure will stand 150 meters tall with wings span 64 meters. Created more than 4000 tons of copper and brass, the statue depicts the god Vishnu, the source of wisdom, riding on the back of the mythical bird Garuda as the manifestation of consciousness toward the paramedics. If construction is completed, this statue will be the largest statue in the world and beat the Statue of Liberty




Situated high above the limestone dataraan Rock and stared at the south coast tourist area of BaliGaruda Wisnu Kencana Cultural Park is a window art and culture of the island which has a natural background and a fascinating panorama. With the distance 15 minutes from the Airport and less than one hour from the main hotel locations, GWK become one of the main objectives for the various art performances, exhibitions and conferences or a relaxing visit and even spiritual visit



Statue pedestal will be surrounded by more than 240 hectares of park culture that was originally the limestone quarry and has been left unproductive. GWK cultural park will provide performances for domestic and foreign visitors with facilities such as the Lotus Pond, Festival Park, Amphitheater, Street Theater, Exhibition Hall, and also Bali The Panoramic Resto window and gift shop. For the moment, the statue of Vishnu, Garuda and Vishnu are placed in the hands of three different plazas.
